SpiritFest 2023… how it nearly didn’t happen

Tavey here.

Before I go any further, I want to say that I am utterly gutted about what happened to Michelle and Wayne. They lost so much, and my heart goes out to them. Please take a moment to send a bit of good energy their way.

As you can imagine, I was not surprised when the news was announced that the festival could not go on this year. Everything already organised for it literally went up in smoke, or was destroyed when the building was demolished right after the fire.

What I was surprised about was a message that popped up shortly after from my co-host, Crow, asking me if I would be willing to jump in and help. Of course I said yes!

So who am I? I am Tavey. I’m a Gardnerian and Alexandrian High Priestess based in Cranbrook BC. I have many years experience of putting on events, large and small. I’ve run a coven for … well… a long time.

And who is my co-host and the person determined to keep the festival going? Crow is well known in the West Kootenay pagan community. Member and High Priest of the Circle of Cerridwen. He used to run the festival years ago, and knows the site well!

Between us, and the other folk who are jumping in to make this years festival happen, we are happy to help!
